Description

Make sure your website is ADA Compliant

This is an important consideration for all websites. The goal is to make sure that everyone has equal access to your site, including those with visual or mobility impairments. Not being ADA-compliant means your site is less accessible to visitors with disabilities, and can also open you up to potential lawsuits. We have three packages to choose from:

ADA Compliance with UserWay

  • As UserWay partners, we’re trusted to ensure your UserWay account is hooked up and functioning on your website properly
  • Consultation to ensure that you’re following best practices for ADA Compliance
  • The level of protection you get will depend on your UserWay license (Learn more about the UserWay Licenses here)
  • Once you sign up for UserWay, you’d use us to finish setting up your ADA Compliance protection

ADA Compliance 2.0

  • A complete audit of your website focused on accessibility
  • Add ALT text to all images where appropriate
  • Ensure all links contain clear and relevant text
  • Define language in the HTML code on website templates
  • Add hidden “skip to main content” link at the top of all pages
  • Visually evaluate all text for contrast and readability and adjust as needed
  • Add scripting to close modal windows and cart popup when the escape key is pressed
  • Testing functionality when pages on your website are zoomed up to 200%
  • Identify and correct any other accessibility issues by running your website through an online accessibility checker

ADA Compliance 2.1

All of the above for 2.0 and:

  • Check site at 400%, make sure it reflows and you don’t have to scroll horizontally to read lines
  • Check non-text contrast (form boxes and their borders vs. bg color)
  • No cluttered text, if a user sets these it doesn’t break anything:
  • Line height (line spacing) to at least 1.5 times the font size;
  • Spacing following paragraphs to at least 2 times the font size;
  • Letter spacing (tracking) to at least 0.12 times the font size;
  • Word spacing to at least 0.16 times the font size.
  • No hover actions that can’t be dismissed with keyboard, nothing janky even when zoomed
  • Pop up menus work as expected when zoomed in and can be used / dismissed. Can be accessed with a keyboard the same way.
  • No character key shortcuts (unless they can be remapped by the user)
  • Label in Name: Forms / send buttons: code should match presented text (so name in code can’t be submit if button says send)
  • Motion animation triggered by interaction can be disabled, unless the animation is essential to the functionality or the information being conveyed. Includes any animation, including parallax, video or gifs. — This is AAA
  • Buttons at least 44×44 (AAA)
